Cuvèe 1

Cuvée 1 is made from carefully selected grapes ripened to perfection under the Tuscan sun, mainly Merlot, Cabernet and Sangiovese. This wine has international flavour and Italian elegance. Merlot gives the wine its body and fruity flavour, while Cabernet offers tannins and finesse, and Sangiovese provides the final touch. We only produce this particular wine if the grape harvest is truly exceptional, thereby creating a winning label that stands the test of time.

Only 4,999 numbered bottles were produced during the 2018 vintage year.

  • Typology: Dry Red Wine
  • Growing region: Italy, Tuscany
  • THE GRAPES: Primarily Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese
  • TASTING NOTES: Cuvée1 presents ripe notes of cherry and plum, enriched with a hint of mint, liquorice and sweet spices. The taste is full-bodied, the acidity is silky, and the tannin very pleasant. A hearty wine to be drunk immediately by those who love intense, well-defined flavours, or to be kept for a long time by those looking to appreciate more complex, ethereal notes.
  • WINE-MAKING PROCESS: The three grape varieties are vinified separately in order to best preserve their individual characteristics. Sangiovese and Merlot are cold-soaked for five days at 4°C, before being fermented for 12 to 14 days at a controlled temperature of max. 24°C. The wine is then aged for 12 months in new barrels made from oak of various origins. The wine is assembled from individually selected barrels before being aged in bottles for about three months.
  • Alcohol degree: 14,5°

THE VINEYARD

The vineyard is located in the hills at about 300m above sea level, with optimal exposure to the east. The climate is primarily characterised by mild Mediterranean climes, mitigated by cool breezes from the Apennines. This union allows the grapes to reach an ideal balance between all components – a must when producing the highest quality wine.

PAIRINGS

The simple rule we recommend following (which everyone knows by now) is to pair great wines with great dishes! As such, we recommend enjoying this wine with a classic Florentine steak. But it goes with more than just grilled meat! Cuvée1 also pairs well with braised beef and game stews.
